Video-performance „A Łódź?” to działanie, odnoszące się do rytualnej próby ognia, polega na wejściu na rozgrzaną kuchenkę elektryczną. Parząca tafla zmusza mnie do szybkiej zmiany pozycji, usiłowania zachowania równowagi i powtarzania słowa „Auć”. Kamera skierowana jest od góry, aby dać odbiorcy poczucie wyższości. Do wideo dodaje, w formie napisów, pytanie „A Łódź?”, które rytmicznie pokrywa się z brzmiącym bardzo podobnie, wypowiadanym słowem. Ta dwuznaczność odnosi się do charakteru miasta Łodzi, w którym kończyłem studia. Z jednej strony, jest dynamicznie rozwijającym się miejscem, ciągle zmieniającym swoje oblicze „hotspotem”. Z drugiej strony nadal pozostaje niedocenionym, entropicznym, postindustrialnym miastem, którego liczba mieszkańców rokrocznie spada.

As part of the performance, referring to ritual fire trials, I step on a heated electric stove. The stinging surface makes me change my position quickly and reapeat the word „ouch”. At the same time, the small surface of the stove makes in difficult to maintain balance. I set camera up high me to give the viewer the impression of looking at the situatuin from above. In the video, I also added the question „a Łódź?” (what about Łódź?) in the form of subtitles, rhythmically synchronized with the sound - imitating „ouch”, which sound almost the same. I play a game with the recipient by asking and reminding of the place where I live whith an ambiguity. On the one hand, Łódź is a dynamically developing place, constantly changing its reputatuin as a „hotspot”. On the other hand, it still remains an underestimated, entropic, post - industrial city with population falling every year.
